DANCE / ORPHEUS AND EURIDICE

Today-April 27: The history of art, music, theater and dance is lined with adaptations of the mythical love story of Orpheus and Eurydice. But the Minnesota Dance Theatre is presenting a new one that boasts some impressive personnel. Start with composer Ricky Ian Gordon, who was responsible for the Minnesota Opera's outstanding version of "The Grapes of Wrath" last year. Then, bring in choreographer Cynthia Gutierrez-Garner to create the dancing and feature the voice of top-flight local soprano Norah Long, and you have a destination dance event that holds court at the Pantages Theatre for two weekends. 8 p.m. Friday-Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday; through April 27; Pantages Theatre, 710 Hennepin Ave., Mpls.; $31; 651-989-5151.
